Technology is amazing, and in this case I don’t actually mean a time machine. Chino Otsuka, a photographer, photoshopped images of her current day self into photos from her chlidhood for this particular project. I love how sometimes the two of them are interacting, and sometimes she’s just observing.
She explains her inspiration here:
“The digital process becomes a tool, almost like a time machine, as I’m embarking on the journey to where I once belonged and at the same time becoming a tourist in my own history.”
The other day I was notified that my husband would be dressing up as a Priest for the evening. My religious, Orthodox, Jewish husband. A friend of ours, studying at AFDA, needed to shoot some photos for a project and Greg obliged. They were out all evening and I kept getting sent creepy photos of him and others covered in (fake) blood.
The storyline involves a Priest sick of people confessing their sins, only to continue sinning. He takes matters into his own hands…
“This Tale was inspired by this terms focus and learning about Serial Killers and the darker side to the human mind. This led me to question ‘who in our communities would least likely be suspected as a Serial Killer?’ This person is Lucius.” …. but what NOW?!
Jordy did such a great job on this project. Follow this link to see how the story ends (and how great of an actor Greg is :P). No really, check it out, he gets a better mark if more people have viewed it. Also be sure to read the little commentary of the image title, it will explain the thoughts and feelings behind the photo.
This seriously had me laughing at my desk today. Yet I don’t know if you’ll appreciate it if you’re not a designer or familiar with photoshop.
What does this look like to you?
No, it’s not a screenshot of Photoshop on my computer.
It’s Photoshop MAGNETS! I know, right?! Mind = blown. (Though not quite as much as when I found out the Photoshop has a spell check!). So for only $25 you can get 11 Photoshop action magnets! I think I hear my heart singing.
I love what people can do with inanimate objects and some photoshop. And of course, with a litle creativity added into the mix (and in this case, some bent wire) – alright, so this one is quite a concoction. I decided these needed to be shared for no other reason than they are pure awesome.
Sometimes life gets old and drab. Same old, same old, every day. Day in, day out. You deff can’t say that in SA with the Soccer World Cup happening in TWO DAYS!!! Anyway, sometimes you need to splash your life with something new, with some colour. In this case, as I”m on holiday, 7 weeks can get quite long and boring. So the perfect way for me to entertain myself is to learn new Photoshop skills (as you’ve read about in the last few posts). Here I found a tut which helped turn pictures into awesome water colours splodged works of art 🙂 Its really a simple tutorial, the paint spoldges are a big file to download but once you have those you can make as many as you like. So follow the tut here at 10steps (http://10steps.sg/photoshop/creating-an-abstract-watercolor-wallpaper/) — [sorry, my computer still freezes when I try link! :(]
It always happens tat when you are meant to be doing some work, something more exciting comes along. In this case, my Media exam tomorrow which no-one knows how or what to study for it, so you can understand the frustration and attempts to give up trying to study. There are only so many boring readings you can do, and not having a clue what to expect because the papers and the course changes every year doesn’t help either.
Enter: the internet. My personal pleasure. And after some link-clicking I find another set of glorious photoshop tutorials waiting for me to try them. And so I did. The tutorial is directly followed as I didnt have the patience to search for or take my own photo of a fruit. And this was quite a nice one.
So taking a photo of my boyfriend, his face how now been implanted onto a pear. “The pear of my eye” doesn’t quite have the same ring as “apple”, eh?
Follow the tutorial here at PhotoshopStar, and put your face into a fruit. Or vegetable. Or something of the sort. Enjoy 🙂
my linking still isn’t working for some reason, so here it is too:
So, now that I have a new laptop I am finally able to do what I have been craving to do for months (and possibly more than that) and that is Photoshop to my hearts content 🙂 Screw exams, its time to learn more skills and experiment with all the tutorials available online. So here is my first (of hopefully many) to share with you 🙂 They’ll be catagorised under “Photoshop Experiments” on the right so keep an eye out for them there.
So here it is, my first experimentation with a Photoshop tut in a long time! How do I look as a Na’vi? 😉 I actually fell asleep in Avatar (shhh, I have a disease…) but couldnt resist this tut, it just seemed like a challenge. And it was. It took ALL day! (plus many facebook breaks and almost giving up). Its not the best mainpulation of someone into a Na’vi that I’ve seen, but maybe someday if I find lots of time and no more cool tuts (and a better pic) i’ll try this one again. I’ll be honest, I did get lazy and didnt do the cool hair and braids, but it was too much of a mission. Either way, enjoy!
here’s the original. I think I came a long way 😛 With my favourite “bear” at Build-a-Bear 🙂
Hope you think my transformation was a success! If you want to try your hands out at making yourself into on a Na’vi (be my guest!) you’ll sadly have to wait for my linking to work properly, having probs atm. But here it is anyway:
